About Us

WISCONSIN BAJA

The Wisconsin Baja Team provides engineering students with hands-on experience and an application of engineering curriculum to real-world problem solving situations. Based at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the teams designs and builds a prototype single seat, off-road vehicle which is taken to competitions to test its ability to survive the rough terrain. Students master the product develop cycle: design, manufacture, test, and revise.

At the end of the year, we travel across the country to compete against over 100 schools from around the world. The car’s design is judged by professional engineers and competes in a variety of dynamic events including a maneuverability course, sled pull, hill climb, acceleration, and an endurance race. The vehicle is also judged on static events such as the cost report, business pitch, and design presentation.
